July 3, 2022 / Pastor EuGene Lewis

This week, guest preacher EuGene Lewis explores the necessity of compassion in the parable of the Good Samaritan in Luke 10:25-37.

COMMUNITY GROUP QUESTIONS:

  • This week we had guest preacher Eugene Lewis explore the parable of the Good Samaritan. This parable is all about compassion, which happens when we see someone’s need regardless of whether they are worthy. What are some areas of life or types of people that you most struggle to show compassion toward?
  • Those who passed by the man in need had their own reasons for not stopping to show compassion. Yet, Jesus still shows that they should have stopped and helped. What are the reasons you often give for not showing compassion?
  • The point of the parable is that we should give ourselves to compassion no matter who is in need. We see this most clearly and beautifully in Jesus himself, who shows unending compassion to every sinner that will turn to him. How do you need to receive the compassion of Jesus today? What tends to keep you from thinking Jesus is actually compassionate towards you?
