- Waiting looks different as you age
- What are you waiting for?
- In our scripture passage, they were waiting for the consolation of Israel (v 25) and the redemption of Jerusalem (v 38)
- We see this elsewhere in scripture too (Psalm 94:19; 1 Cor 14:3; Books of Leviticus, Numbers, Ruth; Psalm 130:7)
- Who am I waiting for?
- The Lord!
- Psalm 27:14; Psalm 146:5; Titus 2:13
- Why wait?
- We see different kinds of waiting in this passage: Mary (v 12-15), Joseph (v 25-30), Simeon (v 66), and Anna (v 84-106)
- Isaiah 40:28-31; James 5:7
- Summary: things and people disappoint! Be patient. The Lord has us wait. Know what you are waiting for, who you are waiting for, and why you wait in faith and in hope. Serve Him in the waiting.
