In a season filled with turmoil and lives spent trying to earn the love of God and everyone else, perhaps the single most pressing need people feel is Rest. Thankfully, this is exactly what Jesus offers those who will come to him for it. In Matthew, Jesus calls all of us – but especially those who labor and are heavy laden – to come to him and find rest for our souls. He tells us that he is “gentle and lowly in heart”, the only time in the gospels that Jesus tells us what his heart is like. In this series, we are going to explore what it looks like to come to Jesus for rest and what we can hope to experience.
